North Ballarat Roosters baffle Collingwood at Victoria Park.

"I JUST think they wanted it more" — Collingwood VFL coach Tarkyn Lockyer was a little lost for answers post-match when his team was booted out of the game in the final quarter.

Lockyer said the Magpies' key performance indicators had been on track to three-quarter time against North Ballarat Roosters.

Stunning turnaround deflates Roosters

How quickly the tide of play turned at Eureka Stadium – North Ballarat built a 46-point lead then lost by almost six goals. The Victorian Football League season opener on Saturday has given North Ballarat and fellow North Melbourne affiliate Werribee plenty to fine tune.

The Teams: VFL Round 1

The Selkirk Roosters have named their teams to take on the Werribee Tigers in their season opener at Eureka Stadium tomorrow. Among those named are Michael Searl (who plays his 100th senior VFL game), Paul McMahon who returns from a 2 year hiatus, Matt Austin the talented recruit from the Brisbane Lions and Coleman Schache who will play as the 23rd player.

The Selkirk Roosters have named their teams to take on the Sandringham Zebras in their Round 2 VFL clash at Eureka Stadium this SUNDAY. Matt Austin is hoping to line up for his first game in the Roosters black and white after being a late withdrawal last week.
