UB was established as a University in 1994 and in 1998 entered the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector following a merger with the School of Mines and Industries Ballarat and the Horsham-based Wimmera Institute of TAFE. This merger created a multi-sector educational institution with campuses across the western region of Victoria in Ballarat, Ararat, Stawell and Horsham. The new Technical Education Centre (UB Tec) also is open, expanding our education services for Years 11 and 12.
UB today provides over 2.2 million hours of VET training and we have over 7,500 full-time equivalent Higher Ed students.
